Very interesting read, the images of the duck breast and veal certainly do stand out! I've heard a lot of this place and have yet to go. Kind of mixed about it now after reading your post of the place. Though you can never go wrong with Belgian beers, so maybe its still worth a try. :) Thanks!

I did enjoy reading your multi-faceted review:
http://eatingclubvancouver.blogspot.com/2008/01/chambar-january-25-2008.html
Considering the regular menu items and price, it sounds like dine-out was worth every penny here.

Such a thorough and well-written review. (We did a Dine-Out review of Chambar as well.)

Anyway, I just had to leave a comment saying how I HEART this:

"So for that I give this dish the disgrace of a small picture FOR SHAME [emphasis mine]"!

LOL!

Too bad your experience at Chambar was only so-so. When I tried it, I loved it. We didn't order as many tasting plates and only stuck to the classic belgian dishes such as the mussels with pomme frites and the steak which I always order rare because most restaurants overcook their meat. For dessert, we ordered the green tea pot de creme which was creamy and velvety. Thanks for the tip on the tasters, I certainly won't need to try them the next time I go.

PS. The bartender makes some really innovative non-alcoholic drinks for people who don't drink like me.
